how to build a simple shopping cart

I am checking out dolphincart pro, but I think that may even have more in it than I need.

What I am looking to do is to have a page that lists a bunch of products, with a picture of said product, a price point, and a field in which the customer can enter the quantity. At the bottom of the page, there will be an "add to cart" button which should then display a summary of the order, and present them with the payment options. (I am not worried about the payment options right now.)

What I am scratching my head trying to figure out, is how to best set-up the database so I can get what I want.

I'm attaching a picture of the style I am looking for.

DolphinCart present options to take a closer look at a product, etc, that I just don't need.
