September 17, 200817 yr Hi group, I hope this is the proper forum and I word my question properly. I am pretty sure this would need to be scripted but it is also a display issue so I wasn't sure which forum to post in. I need to take the contents from several records and place into one text field. For Eaxmple: (Please Note: Each word or number is a seperate field) Record 1 >> Phoenix Arizona 42 Record 2 >> Tucson Arizona 32 Record 3 >> El Paso Texas 19 Record 4 >> Las Vegas Nevada 17 Desired result in ONE RECORD in a separate Table: Phoenix, Arizona 42 Tucson, Arizona 32 El Paso, Texas 19 Las Vegas, Nevada 17 Result would be in a text field...And then on the layout it would be in a text box that would "reduce or enlarge" based on the amount of text in the field. Thanks for your help everyone. Steve
September 17, 200817 yr I need to take the contents from several records... How do you choose those "several" records ? BTW: this example uses ALL the records of the DB and two times the List ( ) function. fields.zip
September 18, 200817 yr Author This should work out perfectly once I figure out how to incorporate with my solution! Is the (X) used in the relationship so the list will contain values from all records? If I am pulling records from a portal if the (=) used will this only pull related redords (from a portal) in to the list? How does this accomplish the result? I was not aware of the list function....this is a powerful function I will be able to use a lot. Thank you so much for your help...This is much easier than what I was planning on trying.
September 18, 200817 yr Is the (X) used in the relationship so the list will contain values from all records? Yes, that's is because I didn't know which records you need. If I am pulling records from a portal if the (=) used will this only pull related redords (from a portal) in to the list? Yes, the List ( ) function, when used with a related field, will keep only values from the related records.
