Lee J Posted March 1, 2001 Posted March 1, 2001 I have recently been asked about using FMPro in an enterprised environment (Oracle etc) Lots of Acronymns where thrown around like COM+ and EJB,R3 etc which mean little to me at this stage. What I would like to know is does anyone know where i Can go to see how FMPro can be used with these larger systems and what the pitfalls might be. Cheers in advance
rsokoloski Posted March 5, 2001 Posted March 5, 2001 I have an Oracle background, but am new to FileMaker. It would be great if FileMaker could be used as a front-end to an Oracle database. As far as I can tell, however, all you can do in this regard is to import (i.e. read) Oracle data from FileMaker using ODBC. On the flip side, since FileMaker also has an ODBC interface, you can use Oracle's generic connectivity cabability to access FileMaker data from Oracle.
