I have a single database that I want to share with a colleague. I use FM 9 Advanced to create databases and will soon add FM Server 9 to my Mac OS X Server to share the databases over the local network. As I understand, FM Server 9 doesn't allow you to do instant web publishing.

My question, can I set up the one database to share the one database with FM 9 Advanced and share the rest of the databases to the network with FM Server.

Yes, but it's not going to be optimal for a number of reasons... and it's a bit odd considering you're getting FM Server, which is the correct answer to this question.

Why not get the colleague a copy of FMP and forget the web completely. They can access the file off the FM Server and all will be good.

Not entirely true. You can use XML or XSLT as well.
