Hello All,

I've got a Word document, which I would like to create a dynamic footer for. The fields for the footer are in a FileMaker database hosted by FileMaker Server Advanced 9. I was thinking I could use XML to merge fields. Has anyone used Word to merge fields from FM using XML and is it more robust then ODBC?

Thanks

Jalz

You can export as XML with a stylesheet applied for the XSLT if you wish. Look on FMI website regarding XML and RTF.

Thanks,

But do I have to EXPORT the record out of FileMaker. Can I not allow a live connection, similar to ODBC?

I am not sure what the issue is. Why do you need "live" data when you are doing a merge?
