Newbies tolis Posted October 16, 2008 Newbies Posted October 16, 2008 hi everyone, i suppose the answer to my question is very easy: how can i highlight the search results in a portal row field thank you
bcooney Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 How (and why) are you searching in a portal row? Let's say that you have Clients and Invoices. Related invoices also appear in a portal on a Client form layout. You want all the invoices for this Client for September. I'd Find in Invoices for ClientID and InvoiceDate=9/*/08. I'm not Finding in a portal. I'm Finding in the Child table. Can you explain a bit more?
Newbies tolis Posted October 17, 2008 Author Newbies Posted October 17, 2008 well, thanks for your answer. i have a Layout based on Albums (cd's) where every Track is in a portal row. When i search for "Mozart" in a cd with various composers i want the Composer field in the portal row to become Let's say red. Then i go to a second Layout based on that track for more information. thank you
bcooney Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Here's a demo using conditional formatting which is applied to the composer popup field in the portal. Notice the use of the global composer ID field. Before conditional formatting, I would have used a calc field (result container)that evaluates to a color swatch if the global matched the portal row's composer ID, thereby "highlighting" the entire portal row.
