Validating Dynamic Drop-Down Lists

I have drop-down lists on my forms that pull information from value lists in FM9A. Is there a way to validate the fields not be left blank .. I put in a "selected" value of "Not Listed, see below", but if someone gets an error and is sent back to the form, that field becomes blank.
