Hi, i am a beginner in FileMaker Pro 8. i have to write a script in a FM file which takes backup of different FM files.. m using openfile command to open a file but whn i create a copy using save a copy as i creates backup of file containing the script not the file that i opened in it... plz help me out... :)

You need to apply the same method in EACH file.

thanx..... but thats exactly wat i cant do for this script... is it possible that i somehow write a save a copy script in the current file n thn open each file and export this script to those file to create backup of those files??... i hope i make myself understanble to u..

Do this...

1. Make a backup script in each file

2. Pick one of your files to be the "primary" file

3. In your "primary" file make a new script to run all of the backup scripts in all of the files.
