Very Mysterious Problem . . .

Hello,

One of my clients is having a very mysterious problem with only one their PC workstations. All other PC workstations work correctly and do not have the problem. All PC workstations, including the one that has the problem, use the same version of Windows XP and FileMaker 8.5v2. They all use the same access privileges and connect to the same FileMaker Server hosted files.

The problem on the one PC:

FileMaker is unable to create a PDF of a layout via a script attached to a button. The location where the PDF is supposed to be created is:

"C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Desktop/". After the PDF is created, it is supposed to be attached to an email.

When the button is clicked, the email is opened but the PDF is not attached and the PDF has not been created in "C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Desktop/".

What has been tried so far:

1) FileMaker Pro has been uninstalled, reinstalled and updated to 8.5v2. Problem persists.

2) Files are able to be copied to "C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Desktop/".

3) Other programs are able to create files in "C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Desktop/".

Questions:

Could this have anything to do with Adobe Acrobat, Outlook or the OS?

Has anyone ever seen or heard about anything like this before?

Has anyone ever solved a problem like this before?

Are there more details that you'd like to know in order for you to give better suggestions?

Any ideas at all?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Jim

Can you post the script please.

What version of XP? (SP2, SP3)

Can the PDF be produced manually?

Exactly where does it fail.
