I imported a batch of photographs into a database with the file name (numbered @.****.jpg, where @ is a number between 1-5 and * are numbers between 0-9), as a second path. The column was origianlly formated as text, since I did not want filemaker to remove the end digits (rounding off zeros in the decimal places). However, now, filemaker seems to be randomly rounding those numbers up or down, meaning that, for example, the photo labled 5.0140 is now 5.013999999999999 and the photo labeled 5.0141 is now labeled 5.0141000000000002. What is going on here?

Data imported into FileMaker remains unchanged unless auto-enter exists on the field. Regardless, we will need more information. Can you provide an example of the imported data file (is it excel or csv or ?) and hopefully an empty clone of the file you are importing into? We will be happy to help you figure it out!

from what you said there must be NO photo "numbered" 5.0140

Instead it must be "named": 5.0140.jpg

Have you changed the FM field from text to number ?
