hasru Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi I have a repetition field. Let say i have 12 rows in one field. Is it any way to stop the user or warn them to stop scanning or submitt data when users reached rows no 12. tq
Søren Dyhr Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 You hopefully mean portal-row number 12, since the use of repeating fields for anything else than utility purposes, is a flawed design ... never ever let the user input anything in repeating fields! But as such are contextual validations, achieved by making an extra field, where the validation is set to be made by a calculation. The crucial point here is to lift the tag saying "evaluate only if field has been modified" so you can monitor activities in other fields. This new field should have no extention beyond 1 pix on each... but it needs to be present on the layout where the data is entered, in an invisible location, and sans borders. --sd
