mr_vodka Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Re: FMFUNCTIONS.COM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina., December 12th, 2008 – Real Revolution in conjunction with Vodka Productions officially unveiled today a new community resource for the FileMaker® Developer; http://www.fmfunctions.com With the introduction of Custom Functions in FileMaker®, the developer was given a huge instrument to assist with their development. Within that short period the development community has created some superb functions, however, a dedicated central repository to share them did not exist. They were being posted on various sites that were not geared specifically towards the development of these custom functions. Fmfunctions.com offers a more developer minded approach to posting custom functions. With the initial release of the site, a few key benefits set the site apart from others. • Ability to create an account to keep track of one’s own functions • Ability to tag functions with keywords for easy searching • Ability to separately enter in the function parameters as well as add a description to each • Ability to track versions and comment on the changes • Ability to create and link child “Helper” functions whose primary function is to supplement a parent function • Ability to rate functions and comment on them which will facilitate community based moderation • Ability to search by author Many additional features are already in the works and have already been scheduled to go out in future releases that will follow shortly. aldipalo Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi John: It looks like it's going to be a great resource. Thanks for all your hard work. There is one problem though. I registered and when I went to sign in I got an error. Not Found Not Found The requested URL /false was not found on this server. Apache Server at www.fmfunctions.com Port 80. The URL was http://www.fmfunctions.com/false
Genx Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Hehe, weird that this never came up in two weeks of alpha and beta tests. Just one thing guys, when making bug reports either here or on the site, could you please specify the browser version / OS you ran into the problem on? Thanks!!
Genx Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Ah, I see, it was a new registration link. All fixed, thanks for reporting :)
Raybaudi Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi John and Alex your site is a very good resource, thanks for your work. I love the ability to add comments and suggestions to push the function to its best result.
