Mark Welch Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I need to make FileMaker work with the Google AdWords API. I'm crawling forward with an attempt to prototype an application using FileMaker, for later re-implementation on a faster platform. Right now, I'm looking for any help in getting FileMaker Pro 9 to interact with the Google AdWords API. (Google has lots of APIs, this is the one for managing paid advertising.) I am not looking for a keyword-generation script, but some tools to allow me to import data from the AdWords API and make adjustments to bid rates based on the performance data. (No, I wouldn't let the script automatically calculate and post bid rate changes unsupervised.) Please, don't go hunting down the specs for the AdWords API -- I'm looking for any existing tools to speed up my work, not for someone to do the work for me. Thanks in advance.
Fitch Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 There are two FileMaker plugins that provide interaction with the FileMaker web viewer. Maybe a place to start at least. MBS Fusion Reactor
Mark Welch Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Thanks for the response, Tom, but neither of these seems helpful for my needs. It looks like I'll need to do all the work on this (accessing the AdWords API from FileMaker) myself.
Newbies Terry Melancon Posted December 28, 2008 Newbies Posted December 28, 2008 Mark, Here is an application I use for Adwords. You will love it check out the videos they are very informative. http://www.adwordaccelerator.com/v3/cmd.php?af=786510 If you find an Adword application using FileMaker please advise me on it.
Fitch Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 It's not clear to me exactly what you're looking for. I have a couple of other suggestions for you: Troi URL (or similar plugin) - allows you to POST data to a website and retrieve the results. ScriptMaster - allows you to build your own plugin modules with Java. SmartPill - gives you a PHP engine within FileMaker. Web Services Plug-in - makes it easy to use WSDLs.
