Importing binary data via ODBC

Featured Replies

They said it couldn't be done, but I'm doing it...almost. The university accumulates graduate student applicant data in a Microsoft SQL Server database and I'm downloading my department's applicant data into a FilemakerPro solution via a standard ODBC connection. The text data comes in fine but the stored document files (applicant's resume, for example) are in a binary large object or BLOG field. I find I can import these into a FM container field but only if they are less than about 80 kB in size. If they are larger, I get only the first 80 kB which destroys the document.

I assume I'm limited by the ODBC connection. Does anyone know where to fine tune the standard Microsoft driver to adjust the memory settings?

Thanks,

Gary
