Value List Filtering

Featured Replies

I want to recreate a "Pop Up" Value List with people who are marked as donors. Currently, I'm getting all people, regardless if their "donor" field is set to "Yes." How can I get a value list with only people who are also marked as "donors?"

Your relationship to People needs to include the fact that they are donors. So, you need a second predicate, Yes=Donor. You need a calc field that = "Yes" on the parent side of the relationship.

Not sure if I understand . . . been a while since I worked with FileMaker.

Got two databases, one is called "Oikos" and the other "Donations." Oikos includes all the names and addresses of families who are donors. However, not all families are current donors, so I have a another field in Oikos call "donor," which simply contains either a "Yes" or "No."

The other database is called "Donations" and includes all the specific donations made by the families. When I enter a new record in "Donations," I'm wanting to have a "Pop-up" or "Drop-down" list to appear that will only have families in "Oikos" who are current and have "Yes" in the donor field.

So where to I put that condition that would give me a Value List that contains current donors in the Oikos database?

bcooney,

Thanks a bunch!

The example helped a lot. Got the Value List to do what I wanted.
