Web Compatibility for buttons and scripts

Featured Replies

I have a database that I would like to put on the web. The database contains a very friendly user interface with lots of buttons. However, when this database is brought up on the web, none of the buttons function. I pulled out my Filemaker Bible to find the answer. It says that this is a limitation. Scripts will not be activated when the database is hosted. The only button that will function is one that has "go to layout...." Is this true with Filemaker 5.0? Does Filemaker 5.5 solve this incompatibility issue? Any answers are appreciated. Thanks.

1. Yes it is true with filemaker 5

2. yes it is addressed in FM5.5, but not completely. There are more steps that will function over the web and a script with up to 3 of these steps will also function. So to a degree, it has gotten better. But it is still very limited. I'm not sure which steps are allowed, so sorry. But you can download the trial version and maybe find out some more information about it.
