I've been using FM successfully on the Mac for several years and more recently on the PC.

I've entered a master password to secure a database file with a subordinate password in place for the others and ... you guessed it ... now, I can't get back in.

On attempting to access the file the prompt "ACCESS DENIED" appears BUT none of the menu items allow the entry of a password to access the file!

I know the password.

I've tried to access it from another password accepted file, although I'm still denied entry.

It would appear therefor, that you can get to lock yourself out of your database file by default.

Can anyone help?

Try holding down the "option" key on the mac or the "shift" key on the PC as you open the file. This should bring up the entry dialog. On the PC you will also need to click in the password entry box, as it is not automatically selected. -bd
