I apologize for this "beginner type" question. This is the first time I have used your forum. We are currently running 3-4 single licensed Filemaker Pro 7 software. Two of us usually need to share files at the same time over our network. I have tried to set up the file sharing settings so that this can happen and have been struggling. Can you give me some tips as far as what I need to do to most efficiently make this happen. Unfortunately, our budget is frozen so obtaining a server version is out of the question. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Always have the files opened on one host computer first. Everyone else will need to use "Open Remote" to access the files. The Network sharing option will have to be turned on for each file under the File --> Sharing menu
