Greetings.

I'm really new to FMP, so apologies if any of this is very basic information. I recently took over some of the technology department after our organization let someone go.

I have been trying to figure out how to open up FileMaker Server and have had a lot of trouble. I'm getting a message that says "unable to launch the specified application". It also reads "Could not load file/url specified".

I'm running the most current version of Leopard Server along with the most current version of FMS (9.0.3.26).

Any suggestions?

You don't say how you are trying to open FileMaker Server - please explain.

I am attempting to open FMS by clicking on the link in the dock of the server. When I do this the window comes up that reads:

Java Web Start - Invalid Argument Error

Unable to launch the specified application.

*There is a red octagon with an exclamation point in it.*

You need to download the console. That's how you administer the server. Please take a look at the manual that comes with the product. It describes this process in detail.
