Starting Help needed with FM Server 10.

Hi all,

I've been using FM for some years now and created various helpful tools with it.

I now need to take one application to the web, so that various users can access my FM database read, edit and add information.

I read through the instant publish stuff, but decided it was not sufficient for my need, so I'd like to give FM Server a try.

I downloaded the Trial from FM homepage to get acquainted to it and check how it is working for my stuff.

Using Vista business I installed the IIS service and started it. I then installed the FM 10 Server and followed the installation instructions.

When the installation is done, I am directed to a "starting" screen in my browser, but I am not being redirected.

Trying to access localhost:16000 results in this error message:

HTTP Status 500 -

FileMaker Server hat einen Fehler festgestellt:

The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

I installed the latest JAVA version just to make sure it wasn't the fault, I even reinstalled the FM 10 Server several times.

The manual - if you can call this a manual - doesn't help me much.

Can anybody give me some direction on how to setup the FM 10 Server!? And how to get my database online?

Maybe someone also has a link to a more comprehensible guide?

I'd really appreciate any tipps!

Thanks in advance and kind regards

Jörg

Try to kill your Java process and then try to open it again. There are some more resources on the FileMaker website for server.
