Hello !

I am using FM9 ESS on a MySQL database hosted on a Linux server where the locale defaults are on UTF-8. My database has the default encoding UTF-8 and my tables have the encoding set to UTF-8. The only exception is that MySQL server seems configured to use Latin-1 (ISO-8859-1) as default encoding (I can't change this, I am not the server administrator). Now FileMaker do not seems to recognize the right encoding for my tables and it reads/writes anything in Latin-1.

If I understand well ESS, it was supposed to recognize automatically the encoding :D

But there is no such option like 'Auto-detect language setting' in my MySQL ODBC 5.1 driver or on the DSN using it.

Does anybody have an idea ?

Thanks !
