Creating Records from a Portal

I have 3 databases: Quotes - Line Items - Products.

I want to be able to create products from the lines portal located in the quotes database. How do I do it? Someone help?

Normally The relationship between Products and Line Items is a one to many. Products are defined in the Products table. They are then selected and added to the line item.

All of our products are custom built so there are contstantly new products created "on the fly". Without manually adding them to the Products table, is there a way to insert into the portal in the quotes table so that it will automatically generate a new product in the products table?

Another idea is to set up a separate portal and tab in the quotes interface to add new products - is that a possibility?
