Hi,

Did someone found a solution to eliminate screen the screen from flickering when in the relationships while doing DB management?

It is totally insane and counter-productive. I attached a screen cast from my FM.

Here's my configuration:

Dell Vostro E6600

nVidia 8800GT

2 GB DDR2

XP Pro SP2

FMPA10

FMS9A

Help!

By the look of it are most tables in italics which means that the tables originates from external sources such as perhaps ODBC or is due an extensive use of the separation model! The way to get the rendering faster is to cut out all unnecessary ties until required, which means cleaning the list of file references.

If this is a migrated pre fm7 solution, would I strongly suggest you gather as many tables as possible in the same file - and then put only the urged SQL sources if they exist in this layer in between, so the interface file in a separation model system only knows of this collector file in it's file reference.

The database is brand new. The video is in my separation model. The same effect occurs on the data file.

In the video, the server is local since I work from home.

But when I'm at the office, I connect to the database on my home computer, everything is instant, no flickering, no problemo. It's quite illogical!

I even setup everything for best performance in Windows.

Ok, I haven't found the solution, but when I'm connecting via remote desktop to my home computer there is no more flickering.

Might be something with the video or the input device.

No, I'm connecting remotely to the files. This evening, I'll update my video card drivers.

I installed FM under my ubuntu (linux) and the problem disappeared. I then uninstalled my nVidia graphic drivers and run FM without the drivers, the problem was fixed. So I reinstalled the drivers and Voilà!

What a relief for my nerves!
