Please could you anyone help me out with this.

I have tables

invoice Product material

In the InvoiceItem portal I have a quantity field.

In the ProductMaterial portal I also have a quantity field.

In a layout from invoice, I pull all the materials from the ProductMaterial Portal, but the quantity field always goes to the 1st field of the InvoiceMaterial,any suggestion on the calculation of the quantity field to go with

the invoiceitem.

I wonder if your table flow mimics this:

...if so have you in your description forgotten a table?

This approach is the healthy relational way of doing things, which should be adapted. Since repeating fields are breaking NF 1, and only could be used in utility purposes.
