hollyheadhunter Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 i am having trouble getting started with SuperContainer. i opened SuperContainerServer.jar with no problem on a local mac and a local pc. but i can't open it on our Virtual Private Server (VPS). on the VPS it seems to just keep thinking the .jar file is Zipped/compressed on the desktop of the VPS, i open the folder: 360Works_SuperContainer-2_272 i doubleclick on: SuperContainerServer.jar it asks if i want to Open or Save this file (at this point the image of the file has a zipper on it.) if i say Open, it says: Do you want to save this file? once i've saved it and try to Open it, it asks me if i want to Save it. and just keeps repeating this loop any ideas? am i missing some downloadable thing related to java?
Valentin Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 The VPS machine must have some archiving (zipping) software that is associated with the .jar extension. On Windows the jar should be associated with Java, I've attached a screenshot of what that looks like. Maybe just running the Java installer again would solve the issue, you can grab it at www.java.com
hollyheadhunter Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Valentin - Thank you so much! Re-intalling Java worked. I really appreciate it.
