April 23, 200916 yr Here is a simple question that I can't find an answer to. How many accounts am I able to set up in a filemaker database.? I will not be using external authentication.. Is there a limit to the amount of accounts? I am using filemaker 10 advanced. Thanks Stu Jacobs
April 23, 200916 yr There is an upward limit, but it's under 10,000. I once auto created 10,000 Accounts in a file as a demo at a conference. So, you're good to go. How many do you want to create? BTW, if you have a larg number Manage Accounts&Privileges can take a while to open. Steven
April 23, 200916 yr I'm hoping this is 10,000 at a time? Not "10,000 over the life of the file"? Because if a large business has a lot of turnover they could hit the 10,000 over the life of the file. And what would happen then? Hopefully they just wouldn't be able to create any more, but would have to "cannibalize" some existing ones? Or would the file explode?
April 24, 200916 yr I'm hoping this is 10,000 at a time? Not "10,000 over the life of the file"? I made 10,000 in a demo file at a single time. And what I was saying is that you can at least make that number. There is an upper limit, and if I can find it, I will post it. I would hope than an organization expecting 10K unique Accounts over time would be using External Server Authentication long before they even approached that number. Steven
