still_learning2008 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 This may be a(nother) silly question, but any chance I can upgrade the server to version 10 and still be able to connect using the version 9 client? Server is Win2k3, clients are a mix of Vista and XP. I've never done a FM upgrade before, and am not looking forward to updating all 50 clients at once...would instead prefer to be able to do it over time and still have the DB accessible to those who have not been upgraded. Long shot, but any advice appreciated! Tim
John May - Point In Space Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yeap, FileMaker 7 - 10 clients can connect to FileMaker Server 10. Note that any new client-side features in 10 will not be available to users logging in with 9 (and before) clients. - John
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Yes, generally speaking, they can. But see the "Backward Compatability" section of thefmkb.com/6839 Tech Info on this matter. Steven
still_learning2008 Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Excellent - thanks to you both!
