Newbies Kirky Posted June 2, 2009 Newbies Posted June 2, 2009 Hi there, So.. I'm a 'noob' at Filemaker. I've just moved our Sum 12,000 contact-Database from ACT! So I can cross between Mac & PC. And Filemaker seems so much better. I basically would like to be able to load up a PDF in one-click say 'PDF 1' and then Print it right out. Ideally I'd like to be able to do this with some pictures too.. -- We're basically a Horse Ranch, people can adopt the Horses etc. And after I enter them up in the Database we print them a form and a picture of the Horse they've adopted. So it would be neat to click on the horses picture in a new layout I've called Horses and it'd print the photo.. Then on a button next to the picture I'd like to be able to click it and print the PDF file. I've already done this with Labels and Renewal forms. I.E. I just one-click 'Print Labels' and it prints them, no questions asked. Same with the Renewal forms. I don't know if this is possible.. Love some help!! (Sorry if this question or one like it is already in here.. I didn't know how to 'ask it' so I posted a new one, anywhere.) Thanks! K.
bcooney Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hello, Kirky, welcome to the forum. Are you familiar with container fields? This is the field type that you would use to store a jpg or pdf. After familiarizing yourself with them, check out this recent thread. Link However, you do not need to export a jpg in order to print it. If you have a container field on your layout, the jpg will display and you can just print the layout.
