We are looking for PHP development firms to quote on a website programming project. We are an art publishing company that uses FileMaker to keep track of our catalog of images and products. We would like to build a new website that uses our FileMaker database as the live data source, and allows users to browse our catalog of images online.

Our FileMaker Database currently has over 4,000 images and over 7,000 products in a related table. (An image may be available in multiple print sizes.)

SEARCH PAGE:

The search bar, which will likely be on the left pane of all pages, is the driving engine behind the interface. The user should be able to search by the following criteria (all based on existing fields in the image database):

* By Size (8x10, 16x20, etc) – This can be a pull-down or (preferably) check-boxes

* By Title

* By Artist

* By Category

* By Style

* By SKU Number (in related Products table)

* By Keyword

Results returned by this search need to be sorted by a specific field (in our existing FM database) which will keep all items grouped by content.

We also need to be able to filter out images and products that have been discontinued.

After a search, the user should be presented with a list, showing a table of thumbnails (120 pixels) with approximately 16-25 records at a time. When user clicks on one, it brings up the details of that image, along with the higher-resolution (400 pixels) version of the file and a table of available products associated with this image.

CART FUNCTIONALITY:

We would like the user to be able to add items to their "cart" (or "order list", as on the GangoEditions.com website) so they can place an order via the website, or view their cart as a "catalog". We do NOT need credit card processing, however, as we do not sell to retail. We will invoice the customer directly.

It would be great if when an order is placed, the information is sent to a FileMaker database with a table called "Orders", so that we can tie this information into our inventory tracking system at a later date.

DESIGN:

We have a graphic design department in-house, which will provide the initial design for the site. We would like to be able to edit the site CSS and graphics elements, so that we can keep the design of the site fresh. We therefore do NOT want to include graphic design services in the construction estimate.

HOSTING:

We currently have FileMaker Server 9 running on a Static IP in our building. We could host the website locally as well, but would consider off-site hosting if there were performance/reliability improvements. Please do not include hosting costs in the price estimate.
