Screen blacking out

Featured Replies

This probably isn't the correct place to ask this question, but I didn't see a better place....

I have a new HP laptop and just loaded FM 7 onto it (the same version I've been using on a desktop for a while). In Layout mode, anytime I click on the screen and hold (like when you are moving an object)the screen goes black. While I'm moving the object I do get little flashes of the screen, but for the most part it is all blacked out. Any reason for this? and how can I stop it?

Thanks.

Any chance that's Vista on the laptop?

If so, then FM didn't get screen stuff sorted out until 8.5v2. What you describe is exactly the problem.

It is indeed Vista. That sucks!

Thanks for solving that puzzle for me. I have been messing around with system settings for days.

Sadly you've also missed the FM upgrade as FM7 went off upgrade a little while ago.

Downgrade to XP or new FMP.
