Hey:)

For a while no I have stuggled to find a reasonable soulution for my active or deactivate record.

I want to have the record still listed in my database, but when I search for client the deactivated record will not be searchable. but it should also be an option when a checkbox is ticked "search deactivated records," deactivated records can be found.

Does anyone have a good solution???

Thanks soooo much for your help. any hints or tips will be welcomed with a huge smile

Kind regards

I take it for granted that you facilitate your base with a boolean attribute "InActive"...

With searches do you allow you users to use the native search options with command/crtl F ??

Otherwise would I suggest all searches under a scripted umbrella, facilitating a request build of the omitted request required.

However would I - if the native searches are the case, investigate the use of the onModechange event trigger to ensure the find and constrain is somehow swapped - as you can hear haven't I tried this approach.

Never the less is one the propper ways to deal with these matters way into the supertype/subtype topic, or alternatively is a setup of user privileges, since record level access can be controlled this way. This second approach turns the problem upside down, since every time any listing is made should the build of these be made scripted under temprary full access.

I've included a template, as to how I approximately would deal with such a problem, if no further details prevent me from it!
