Newbies jackmac Posted June 29, 2009 Newbies Posted June 29, 2009 Hi all, Hopefully an easy one for someone. I come from a .net background but am writing in Filemaker Pro for a variety of reasons and have got stuck a little. I am building a database file to hold player records for a football team. I have built a file which has a record for each player, with all relevant info on there. I want to build a 'list' box which the user can add game data to so that rather than one long text file, it would show asa datestamped info either as individual entries in a long list or as a long text file with individual datestamps for each entry so they can see what happened and when. Hope that makes sense. I'm using FMP 10 Adv on Win XP (it will be run on Vista though) Anyone any ideas how I can create the list I need? Any help, very much appreciated! TIA Jack
mr_vodka Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 You should use a separate Notes table. You can use a portal to display the notes. For creating a new notes entry, you can enter it in the portal directly, or you can script the process as well.
