Newbies d_vantassell Posted March 22, 2001 Newbies Posted March 22, 2001 We're hosting some databases with FM Server and we just switched to 2000 from NT. Now I can't open the hosted databases on the machine that's hosting them, it' can't find it's own IP address. The other computers in the office (both Macs and PCs) access the files via the sever's IP address. FileMaker is set to use the TCP/IP connection, so it's not that. Any suggestions?
Kurt Knippel Posted September 10, 2001 Posted September 10, 2001 What version of Filemaker are you using? Both as server and as client? Running both server and client on the same machine at the same time is REALLY slow and I do not recommend this unless it is absolutely necessary, especially if you can connect from another system. You gain nothing by running them both from the same system anyway!
