I am running FP 5 Server every mourning I get a message on the screen that says, "INDEXING will take aprox 56 hours", and this will slow everything down dramatically.

Before the many FMP users at my company kill me. I would like to know how to fix this!

Am I correct to think that you're talking about Sherlock indexing the Hard Disk??? If I am right, try to turn off indexinf within Sherlock. Reda somwhere that there's a bug in Sherlock.

Hope this helps. cool.gif" border="0

When setting up FM Servers, I try to disable all the extensions I can (color picker, quicktime, quickdraw 3d, desktop pictures, control strip, etc.). Simpler is definitely better with servers. I also like to use Peek-a-Boo to force allocate cpu cycles to FM Server. Otherwise, if the Finder is clicked into the foreground, speed really suffers. Unless your server hardware requires OS 9, I would stick with OS 8.6 for FM Server. -bd

Indexing is turned off via Sherlock. Go to the find menu and select "index volumes" and turn any schedule off.
