Creating XML file to meet DTD from third party website

Hello all, I am new to XML exports but experienced in Filemaker.

My question is this, I want to create an export file from Filemaker which will meet a DTD set out by a third party website for upload to their listings automatically.

From what I can gather the best way to do this is to create a XSTL sheet and use the FMPXMLRESULT option. Does this seem right?

Alternatively, I was going to create a text based export but am having difficulites with carrrige returns and formatting.

Has anyone experience of this?

Any help greatly appreciated,

John

Yes. There are quite a few examples in these forums, both in this and the Importing & Exporting section.

Thanks, I guess the next step is to work out how to write the XSL file...

Any thoughts on where to start with this?

You could start by looking at some examples and learning about XSLT in general (no shortage of sources on that).

I am afraid I cannot say anything more specific without knowing what you want to export, and in what form - XSL stylesheets need to be custom-tailored to both input and output.
