Newbies boutha Posted September 5, 2001 Newbies Posted September 5, 2001 We have installed on a remote server (Windows Server 2000 NT)FileMaker Pro Server 5. We are 10 users each sharing a certain number of volume and each having its own private volume. We have never been able to share a database between all of us. We have about a dozen different database that are shared between some of us and some between all of us. Support from FileMaker is inexistant, they told us that they can't see what the problem is and just don't care. Does anybody out there have an idea of what the problem is and what to do about it. I can't imagine that FileMaker Pro is incompatible with Windows Server 2000 NT. If you want more information on the configuration of the server, please contact me.
Kurt Knippel Posted September 5, 2001 Posted September 5, 2001 Are running Windows 2000 or Windows NT on your server? What are you running on the desktop systems? Are you running Filemaker Pro Server? What version? What version of Filemaker are you running on your desktop systems? Do you have TCP/IP networking enabled in the Filemaker application on each desktop? Are the guests opening the Filemaker files via Explorer or are you opening them via the Hosts button in Filemaker? Are the Filemaker files on a shared volume?
