FMServer on Windows NT slows down application? HELP

Featured Replies

Ok,

Everything works fine. On a single computer and in my little network Mac-PC.

Then I install the dbase on a FM Server (Windows NT) and:

- the first time the speed is great, I shut down the dbase

- I open it again and now it's sooooo slow (and bound to stay that way)

What's going wrong? Links are fine, everythings ok, please H E L P.

Maybe it's me as it's the first time I installed a fmdbase on an FMServer.

All the files are in my remote server window. And as long as the server isn't activated everything works fine.

This makes me feel helpless,

Mich

Ok, there are only about a billion thing that are possible here, so we need alot more information before we can even attempt to figure this out.

First what is you network configuration? Machines, servers, hubs, speeds, protocols, etc.

What do you mean by: "And as long as the server isn't activated everything works fine."?

Are the actual database files stored on the NT Server drive?

What do you mean both by "fast" and "slow"? What exactly are you doing when you close and open the database again?
