Rich K. Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 When showing a customer record, I would like to grab the last 5 invoices for this customer and display them in a portal. What is the best way to accomplish. The idea is to keep the results small on this "top 5 invoice" portal (no matter if the customer has thousands of invoices). Thanks, Rich

Søren Dyhr Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 It is easier just to explain it Perhaps when your native tongue, happens to be English - a language in particular known for it's large selection of idioms and phrases as substitute for a dedicated grammar - not quite allowing you to put words as you wish! Idioms don't usually cross language boundaries. In some cases, when an idiom is translated into another language, the meaning of the idiom is changed or does not make any sense as it once did in another language. Idioms are probably the hardest thing for a person to learn in the process of learning a new language.[citation needed] This is because most people grow up using idioms as if their true meanings actually make sense. So when not knowing them all "by heart" ... could you be trapped unaware. --sd
Søren Dyhr Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Right - no idioms in this sentence, but still a question which preposition to choose and in particular where to position it, and if it's accidentally put in in a wrong position, will it then hit an idiom I'm unaware of? Another issue is reverse vs. decending - which to choose here, again not particular obvious which goes with which? --sd
