I want to create easy to use custom help info for my Runtime solution. What's a good format for this? Any good examples that I could look at?

There aren't any plugins for help systems that I'm aware of.

How do you envision the help system working?

Within FM, you could have a table of help text, from which you populate a global text field. This field could be displayed in a popup window when a user clicks a help button.
