Mark Reed Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I have scoured the filemaker site and cannot find any tech spec that says Filemaker Server will not run on 64bit win08. Can anyone shed some light into this? We are planning to setup our server as a 64bit Win08 box but I need to make certain FMServer will run on it without any major issues.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 FileMaker Server 10 will run on Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition SP 1 64 bit edition but only in 32 bit mode. And if you're doing anything web based thre is a lot of extra work to do with the various filters. Use Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP 2 32 bit or Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition SP 1 32 bit. They work well. Steven
Jason R. Thomas Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Hi Mark, One of our guys installed FileMaker Server 10 on a Windows Server 2008. I happened to be searching this topic because I posted something about it on our blog. http://skeletonkey.com/blog-entry-2009-11-05
