TCP/IP unavailable

Hi all,

I'm kind of new to filemaker so this is my question:

Small network: 5 imacs, 1 server via tcp/ip, 1 filemaker adress-file on the server that everybody can acces and modify. After re-installing a new OS on 1 of the macs: 1 major problem: nobody can acces the filemaker database anymore! On the mac with the new OS: filemaker cannot connect to the server using tcp/ip: only appletalk is available.

What is the problem? Evertything us"ed to work fine before, with the same configurations and OS?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You said the OS was reinstalled on one of the computers. You didn't say if that computer is the server. Your problem is probably that the TCP/IP control panel settings or FileMaker network setting are all not configured properly for TCP/IP. You must setup both for correct operation.

In Filemaker Go to-Edit-Preferences-Application and make sure your Network Protocol is set to TCP/IP.

Also check that you have correctly setup your TCP/IP in the control panel of your Mac.

Hope this works!
