FMServer Boggs out following NT crash...How to fix?

Featured Replies

I had my first crash of an NT 5.0 Dell box today, while FM Server 5 was running. Following reboot, the system was incredibly slow.... Checking with the Performance monitor, FM Server was hogging virtually all the time.

How can I fix this?

Consistency checks have already been done on all my filemaker files and they check out fine.

Do I need to reinstall FM Server 5? Any suggestions??

If NT 5.0 = W2000

do not use it, use NT4.

else

I do not know

W2000 are fragile. On Sunday I did just reinstalling W2000 because they where using 100% CPU just themselves.

Fixed the problem.

I was using NT4 and the fix was easy. First uninstalled FM Server 5, then reinstalled it on the server. Took 5 minutes... but still the question remains as to why the crash. It was my first NT4 crash in 1.5 years of operation. I guess NT4 has spoiled me

Thanks for the help and response
