OMamed Posted December 18, 2001 Posted December 18, 2001 I'm running FM Server 5.5 for 30+ databases on a Win2000 Server. I use Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 to do nightly backups. Since moving from WINNT to Win2K, the backup software reports that the databases are corrupt (which they are not of course). One solution (from Veritas) would be to have FM Server stop serving the databases during the time backups are going on. Since none of the dbs are 24/7 critical, how could I have FM Server stop serving the dbs for an hour while the files are being backed up? Any suggestions? Thanks!
DykstrL Posted December 18, 2001 Posted December 18, 2001 Use the backup in FMS to backup the hosted files to a separate folder, then backup that folder to tape. The files will not shoe corrupt and the hosted files do not have to be taken off line to be backed up.
