Can I have a date field that is just mm/yyyy ?

I'm creating an archive of projects realized at the video studio I work at.

I don't need/can't use a "day" entry in the DATE field, all I want is " month/year" (mm/yyyy)

I've tried custom formatting the date field, but everytime I try to enter a date in Browse mode, FM says :

the value of this field must be a valid date within the range of 1 to 4000. the date must look like this dd/mm/yyyy

How can I get mm/yyyy date fields?

A date field must contain a valid date value - which includes the day. You can enter an arbitrary day and format the field to display as MM/YYYY. Alternatively, use separate fields (of type number) for month and year.

If it were me, I'd have a text field that accepted the MM/YYYY data entry, and a calc field that converted it to MM/01/YYYY for any date calculation needs.
