Newbies alphonse Posted October 10, 2009 Newbies Posted October 10, 2009 How do I go about importing my MS Access database / files to FileMaker Pro on a Mac OSX platform? Can anyone direct in the right direction, which hopefully isn't too painful or expensive.
Lee Smith Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) You can't import it directly, you have to Export from Access, and import it. Once you have a exported text file, you can either Open the File in FileMaker, or import it. This topic comes up from time to time. You can find several Threads on this subject by searching for the Keywords like [color:blue]+Access +Import +File ([color:blue]include the pluses as shown). The information about File Formats is covered in the User Guide and Online Help, which can help you figure out the format is the best format for your use. I'm not familiar with Access's File Formats, but I would use Merge if available. HTH Lee Edited October 11, 2009 by Guest clarify a few points better.
