OK, here's my dilemma:

I have a Field called "Message" in which I'd like to create 2 drop-down Value List choices:

In each message I'd like to have a signature that includes the name address and phone number of sender. How do I get these messages to look like a "letter"? When I hit "return" during the creation of the value list, then I get all separate items in my drop down. Please help!!!!

Hello dppolska.

You've misunderstood the use of value lists. They allow a user to select one value per field. So, you cannot have two drop-down value lists for one field.

Your field is message, yet your ultimate goal is to produce a printed letter? Or an email?

Either way, take a look at using merge fields or creating a calculated text field that concatenates several text fields to produce one final "message."

OK,

I don't think I explained myself clearly.

I created two statements in the Value List, one that looks like this:

Just a note to let you know that this device is now due back. Please call to arrange for a pick-up. Thank you. Melanie Johnson, Loan Coordinator, FDLRS-TSLL, 1207 Mellonville Ave. Sanford,FL 32771 800-558-6580

As you can see, the text "wraps". I would like the signature to read:

Melanie Johnson

Loan Coordinator, FDLRS-TSLL

1207 S. Mellonville Ave.

Sanford, FL 32771

800-558-6580

If I use the carriage return the lines of text "ungroup" themselves so this is no longer a "block" of text.

Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance.

Since value lists are return-delimited, you cannot have values that have returns.

How about a signatures table? Each record would have an ID and message text.

Then the use selects a signature by ID, and gets the message text.
