Newbies Fairbanks Posted October 23, 2009 Newbies Posted October 23, 2009 Hi, I'm a new FM user. We are using a service to host our FM database (I don't know which version of FM server they are using.) From my office PC I can successfully open the remote connection to the server and database, but I can't from home. Any suggestions? I'm running FM 9 Trial on a Mac OS X Leopard. I don't know if I need to change firewall settings (and if so, how?) or reconfigure my modem or contact my ISP. Thanks for suggestions!
Newbies Fairbanks Posted October 23, 2009 Author Newbies Posted October 23, 2009 Found an answer to my question on FM Knowledge Base. There is a patch for SSL problems to FM 9 at the following location http://filemaker.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/filemaker.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=7016&p_sid=tHuer9Lj&p_lva=6995&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MjYsMjYmcF9wcm9kcz04NjQsODY1JnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0yLjg2NSZwX2N2PSZwX3BzX2Fuc191cGRhdGVkPSZwX3BhZ2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PXJlbW90ZSBmaWxl&p_li=
Steven H. Blackwell Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Welcome to FM Forums. Port 5003 needs to be opened on your firewall. You may also need Port 5353 (Bonjour). The problem might be with FileMaker 9. Try FileMaker 10 instead. Steven
