I am running a 2-machine config serving Filemaker v10 files via php.

Can I upgrade the machine running the web publishing engine to Snow Leopard 10.6, whilst keeping the FM Server machine at Tiger 10.4 ?

FWIW, the answer is "yes".

Did it like this:

1. Upgrade to 10.6

2. Download and install FMPSA v10 for snow leopard

3. uninstall existing FM installation.

4. install FMSA v10 for snow leopard

5. stop web sharing from system prefs

6. amend htppd.conf to start php 5 with apache

7. reconfigure the FMSA server on 10.4 via the control panel to re-bind it to the new web-publishing engine.
