HELP! Moved DB from NT to 2000, something is wrong

Featured Replies

Did you actually start the FM Server service so that the files would be hosted?

Also, check to see that files are set to multi-user.

BTW, Server 3 is not certified for W2K Server.

Also where are the files located?

OK, We had our Filemaker database on an NT server and upgraded to 2000 server. On the server is Filemaker Server 3.0.

I copied all of the data over to the new server, but when I go to a client machine and hit hosts, it is not there. Even if I put in the server name or the IP address (static), it is not there. It is still using the old server for it. The only way I did get it to show on the client, from the new server, is if I actually open that file on the server.

Is there something that I need to do to get the new server to automatically open all of the files so that the clients can use them off the new server?

THANKS so much, ahead of time. I really need to get this darn thing working and I am only going to be here until Friday. Figures that they asked me to do this my last week here, urgg!
