Hi All,

I have a mystery on my hands.

I am running FM Server 9 on a dedicated Windows machine. I have clients (mostly Mac)that connect via Open Remote using FMP 9.

So here is where it gets a little strange. I have one, and only one, computer that cannot find the server when you go in and 'open remote' and enter all the settings. I've had 2 people check the settings so I think we aren't overlooking something obvious.

The file has been hosted and working for over a year. This is a newly rebuilt Mac after a hard drive replacement.

I know that the computer is on the network correctly because we can access file servers.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Thanks,

Lynn

Hi Steven,

I'll double check that that computer allows incoming connections but I can't think of a firewall setting that would be stopping it.

As far as the firewall on the Windows box.... hmmmm. Maybe there is something that only allows certain Mac addresses to access. I'll double check.

Thanks for the input.

Is FMS configured to use SSL? If so, it could be the SSL bug on the client.

There is an update for it.

Are you saying that there are no files displayed, or there is no server available?

If no files, then you can forcibly open a file by typing it's name at the end of the Network File Path.

If no server, then try favourite hosts and manually specify the IP address of the server

It can't see the host.

I've gone in and entered the info manually exactly as it is on the other machines. It can't find it.

It really is perplexing.

The SSL problem can affect the one machine yes.

It this machine a Mac or PC? If a PC does it have Bonjour installed?
